The Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) became aware of a crash leading to the death of a horse along Bush Highway early this morning. MCDOT is asking all drivers to please slow down, avoid distractions and be extra vigilant when driving along Bush Highway.
Portable message boards are placed along the roadway to remind drivers to watch for horses. Additionally, MCDOT has installed rumble strips and painted “Watch for Horses” warnings on the roadway at each of the seven designated horse crossings to encourage drivers to slow down and be aware of animals crossing the road.
The safety of drivers, passengers, animals and other roadway users depends on drivers using caution when driving in this area. We ask that you do your part to keep our roadways safe for all that use them.
