Floodplain Management Plan 2020 Update - Public Meeting #2

The Flood Control District of Maricopa County (District) invites you to attend an open house from 3 - 6 PM to learn about the Floodplain Management Plan (FMP) 2020 Update prepared for the unincorporated areas of the County. This meeting is your opportunity to learn about the process for developing the plan, its findings and recommendations and to ask questions about the plan. Participants can submit comments for review and consideration for possible modifications to the plan. The District administers the National Flood Insurance Program’s Community Rating System for unincorporated Maricopa County. As part of the program, the District is updating its 2015 plan. This plan focuses on unincorporated areas and identifies flood hazards, sets goals and recommends a program of activities to address the County’s vulnerability to flooding. It also addresses public education about loss reduction measures and the beneficial functions of floodplains to reduce flood hazards within the County.
