On January 4, CDC updated its COVID-19 isolation and quarantine recommendations for the general public, K-12 schools, and worksites (non-healthcare settings) with shorter isolation (for asymptomatic and mildly ill people) and quarantine periods of 5 days to focus on the period when a person is most infectious, followed by continued masking for an additional 5 days. CDC recommends vaccination for kids 5-11
Vaccination with the Pfizer pediatric COVID-19 vaccine for children 5-11 was authorized Nov. 2 following thorough review by the CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices’ (ACIP).
For immunocompromised kids, a third dose of Pfizer vaccine is recommended 28 days after the 2nd dose in primary series.
