Benefits Upon Separation of Employment
The Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1986 (COBRA) is a federal law that allows employees and their dependents to keep coverage through their employer’s medical (including prescription and behavioral health), vision, dental and Health Care Flexible Spending Account plans for a limited time if they lose coverage due to certain events.
Employees will not receive the County contribution to the Health Savings Account (HSA) while on COBRA. The HSA is not a medical plan and not covered by COBRA.
