    Las Artes de Maricopa

    About Las Artes de Maricopa
    • A grand opening was held in July 2004 to celebrate the introduction of the Las Artes youth program in Maricopa County. This “best-practice” program was instituted in Pima County over ten years ago.
    • The programs allows twelve to thirty-two weeks for GED preparation and job training, all while participating in community art projects.
    • The premise of the program is to provide youth with a second chance to succeed in education and personal development.
    • To ensure success, a team of highly qualified individuals consisting of a youth program supervisor, program coordinator, artist, GED instructor and case manager is available.
    • Youth will be recruited throughout Maricopa County (outside the city of Phoenix). The MWC will start recruiting youth from the Guadalupe and Tempe areas for the first eight week session. Tolleson and Avondale have been slated for the second eight week session.
    Eligible Youth
    • Out of school youth ages 16-21 seeking assistance in achieving academic and employment success.

    Facility
    • Las Artes is operated in the newly renovated Sante Fe Train Depot located at 501 W. Jackson, Suite A
    • The facility is open Monday - Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
