In her capacity as Director, Trish Georgeff brings to the Department a strong public service background with experience at the local, regional, and state level. She has worked in a variety of program areas, including community action, workforce development, housing and community development, and public health. An experienced administrator, Trish is well grounded in all aspects of human services, including policy, planning, program development, and direct services. She is also very experienced in working with grants.
Trish has worked frequently with boards, committees, and community partners. She values the collaborative process and recognizes the importance of understanding and responding to the many and diverse interests that make up the community. She sees the role of the department to be a provider of quality services, an advocate for the needs of clients and community, and a catalyst for change.
Trish came to Arizona as a VISTA Volunteer and found her home here. She worked for many years in Pinal and Gila Counties, and then, in 1993, moved to Phoenix to work first at the state, then for Maricopa County.
She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Religion from the University of Iowa and a Masters degree in Public Administration.
